Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPRN- Shift VariesSUMMARYThe ER Tech/Unit Secretary performs designated/delegated tasks in the provision of care for patients and performs clerical and receptionist duties for the emergency department under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Manages by providing aspects of care within a specified timeline and completes routine non-patient department tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICIATIONSA minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, or higher.
Previous ED Tech/Unit Secretary experience, nursing assistant training with 6 months or more experience, Basic dysrhythmia course required within one year of hire.
EKG course training required within the defined orientation period.
Previous computer experience is preferred.
Emergency Medical Technician training, or prior phlebotomy training/experience is preferred.
The qualified candidate must possess current BLS certification (CPR) and phlebotomy training upon completion of orientation.
Hazmat training must be completed within 1 year of hire date.
Candidate must have good clinical, organizational, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritizes, and handles stressful situations required.
