Job Description The Medical Institute of Kentucky is looking for an energetic and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team.
Applicants need to have experience in the following:
Performing general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
Clinical responsibilities to include but not limited to:
obtaining vitals, performing venipuncture, administering injections, performing EKG's, collecting specimens, performing complete urinalysis, charting and other CLIA waived testing.
Keeping exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintaining instruments, and preparing sterilization as required.
Medical administrative duties such as:
Scheduling, billing/prior authorizations, professional communication, consent forms, and basic knowledge of coding.
Knowledge in medical terminology.
Keeping patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

Qualifications:
Formal Medical Assisting Education (Required) Certified or eligible for certification through formal education (Required) 2 years of in-field experience (Required) Experience in Primary Care (Preferred) Trainer of newly hired medical assistants (Preferred) Excellent verbal and written communication skills o Self-motivated, organized o Team player o Ability to manage multiple priorities o Problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks assigned o Possess unquestionable personal and professional ethics o Adaptable to learning new systems and continual changes in the practice environment.
