Mission of the position: Provide direction for all aspects related to safety and environment in facility. Ensure all employees are following safe work habits; ensure compliance of all safety and environment initiatives and legal requirements. Safety is a fundamental value at Metalsa and a component of all positions within the company. Main responsibilities
Coordinate and lead various training sessions
Lead, participate on and support the Safety Team by attending meetings, conducting facility inspections and incident investigations
Standardization of procedures related to job scope
Coordinate efforts of consultants with manufacturing and maintenance and tooling schedules
Draft and implement safety procedures as part of the safety system
Schedule and complete routine tasks including first aid kit / supply checks / refills; spill kit checks / refills; refill safety supply dispensers, etc. while maintaining adequate stock
Ensure Proeza policy compliance
In the absence of the Environmental and Safety Coordinator, assume full responsibilities and have the authority to make decisions related to any government, legal, environment, or safety issues that arise.
Assist with duties related to the Environmental Management System (EMS) - schedule audits and assist in maintaining the EMS
Have direct influence and involvement along with the HD / Management when making employment disciplinary decisions due to safety violations
Academic degree required by the position
Bachelor degree in General Industry and recognized safety program/association
Experience
2 years of relevant safety work experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting (Critical)
Working knowledge of Environmental Compliance, Workers Comp, OSHA/VOSH regulations, NEC, building and life safety codes
Technical skills
Problem Solving Techniques
Proficient in MS Office (excel spreadsheets,)
Health & Safety Systems
ISO 14001 system
ISO/TS 16949

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
